Public Policy

The Partnership is the primary business advocate for the Houston region. The Public Policy Division works hand-in-hand with the Partnership policy committee members, board members, elected officials and outside organizations as a regional facilitator for issues affecting the business community.

Regional Economic Development Advisory Committee

As the largest economic development organization in the region, the Partnership is tasked with marketing the Houston area to relocating and expanding companies. The Regional Economic Development Advisory Committee is the primary business leadership committee that provides oversight, guidance and assistance for the Partnership's regional economic development initiatives. There are a number of targeted Committees under this Advisory Committee. 

International Investment and Trade Advisory Committee

The International Investment and Trade Advisory Committee (IIT) is the primary business leadership committee that provides oversight, guidance and assistance for the Partnership’s international investment and trade initiatives. There are a number of targeted Committees under this Advisory Committee. 

Forums

Forums are hosted the first Tuesday of each month and bring members together to get a pulse on the industries and initiatives shaping Houston as a great global city.

Training programs and workforce development opportunities strengthen the pipeline of skilled workers that employers need and create better pathways to opportunity and prosperity.

Leadership Programs

Designed to empower and equip high potential employees, these programs offer interactive skill-building experiences, insider conversations with industry and community leaders, and fostered connections with like-minded peers throughout the region.

Houston Energy Leadership Cohort

Professionals serving the energy sector interested in strengthening Houston’s position as the Energy Capital of the World will benefit from this cohort-based series designed to provide participants with an inside look at the energy transition in Houston, including best practices for building an energy abundant future for Houston, evolving policies related to energy progress, community engagement and talent development, and an active network of energy industry practitioners. First cohort launches fall 2024. 

Houston Young Professionals and Entrepreneurs (HYPE)

HYPE offers dedicated professional development experiences for the next generation of business and community leaders at member companies through unique, regular engagements throughout the year and a curated bimonthly newsletter geared towards building their skills and enhancing their leadership potential. HYPE members are typically early- to mid-career professionals interested in growing their career potential.

Women on the Rise

Formerly known as “Women’s Business Alliance (WBA),” Women on the Rise celebrates high potential women interested in networking and idea-sharing with like-minded women as well as advancing their professional skills. Ongoing experiences throughout the year emphasizing connection with peers, exposure to business and community leaders and skill development are offered in addition to a curated bimonthly newsletter.

Houston In Focus convenes elected leaders, chamber partners and members for conversations with the region’s most influential leaders, sharing how key allies work together to build a strong future for the Houston region, expanding growth and opportunity across our 12-county footprint.

 

Women in Government
Held in both the spring and fall, these gatherings are an opportunity to build relationships with women working in government affairs, public affairs, or in federal, state or local government while amplifying the tremendous work done by females in the government relations industry.

This UpSkill Houston series brings Houston-area employers and thought leaders together to discuss one of the region’s most critically important challenges -- workforce. UpSkill Houston is nationally recognized and serves as a forum for leaders of business, industry, education and community organizations to engage with each other and forward-thinking national leaders to address the challenges and opportunities related to growing our region's talent pipeline.
